You might remember a few weeks back I did a post on the plight of the residents of Euston Rd Alexandria. A seven lane highway will be built just 1.8 metres from this block of apartments.
That post was about an afternoon wrapping the trees threatened by WestCONnex. Since then fences have enclosed the trees and we hear they will be destroyed on Wednesday the 26th from 7am……
Speeches by Lord Mayor Clover Moore, Jamie Parker MP for Balmain, Cr Jess Miller and local resident Paul Davies. MC'd by Rhea Liebmann from Westconnex Action Group, watch the video.

About a dozen protesters turned up to Penrith Library yesterday to oppose the NSW government's plan to charge Western Sydney residents $75 a week in tolls to access Inner Sydney. We need public transport, not another toll road to a traffic jam.Read more
It was standing room only at the Stop Westconnex Legal Fundraiser last night. More than 250 people turned out to support the dozens of protesters arrested under the NSW government's punitive anti-protest laws. We raised more than $6000 for the incredible community activists arrested throughout the campaign and heard great speeches from Wendy Bacon and Elizabeth Farrelly who have been huge supporters.Read more
A great group of locals and supporters took to the streets of Leichhardt and Lilyfield today to ask for signatures to our to letter to Premier Berejiklian and Stuart Ayers - Minister for Westconnex. Hundreds of signatures obtained and many conversations with concerned residents are evidence of the opposition to this proposal. Thank you to our volunteers for your commitment and support.

Thank you for inviting us today Leichhardt High - and for your spirit and determination.
LAW welcomes the decision of the Minister in ruling out the offensive proposal to locate a dive site directly next to our local high school. Now our attention must turn to ensure the equally offensive Darley Rd site is ruled out.
The residents of Euston Road Alexandria are about to have all of the trees in front of their apartments removed. The beautiful old figs over the road will probably be destroyed as well.
We spent yesterday afternoon wrapping the trees in blue to show the potential destruction.
The action was organised by Save Sydney Park, Westconnex Action Group, and Save Newtown - Stop Westconnex.Read more
A few shots of the stop #westCONnex contingent at March in March.
It was fitting to see Tony Abbott there. It was his decision to flush $3.5 billion of our money down the #westCONnex toilet bowl. As was revealed in the Federal Audit released earlier this month, most of this money is still sitting unused in the state governments coffers. It's not too late to redirect this to money to public transport and solve, rather than exacerbate, Sydney's traffic woes.Read more
